About Me

Mabuhay! My name is Carla :sparkles:

I enjoy creating maps and solving problems.

I started my career as an Academic Researcher upon graduation because I am inspired by the value and impact of geospatial data in the development and monitoring of our businesses, community, and environment. Specializing in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), I have worked on government-funded research projects in the Philippines and Europe for agricultural and forest applications.

Currently, I am co-founding the EO thermal analysis startup Termatics with my amazing colleagues Max and Jose - after completing our master’s under the double-degree mobility programme “Copernicus Master in Digital Earth” - specializing in GeoData Science. In parallel, I am also part of the Risk, Hazard, & Climate research group at Üniversitat Salzburg.

I hope to further and apply my skills and competencies in the fields of EO and GI in order to turn more data into meaningful insights and actionable information.
